Our Story

There's a moment nobody warns you about. You shower every day. You use the same soap you've trusted for thirty years. And still, somewhere along the way, you notice it — a faint, musty something on a collar, a pillowcase, your skin. It's easy to assume you're doing something wrong.

You're not. Your routine didn't fail you — the molecule changed.

As skin matures, its natural oils change and begin producing an odour compound that ordinary soap simply can't wash away. No amount of scrubbing touches it, because it isn't a hygiene problem. It's chemistry. Once we understood that, the question stopped being how do we cover this up? and became how do we actually remove it — without punishing the skin in the process?

The answer was inspired by the centuries-old Japanese persimmon tradition: persimmon tannin binds to the odour compound so it rinses down the drain instead of lingering. But tannin alone wasn't enough. Mature skin is thinner and drier than it used to be, and too many bars in this category strip it raw. So we insisted on the opposite architecture — a bar built on a moisturiser, not a detergent. Glycerin is the first ingredient on our label, ahead of water, joined by hyaluronic acid, trehalose and hydrogenated olive oil. The kind of ingredients you'd expect on a face-serum label, in the bar you use every morning.

omuro exists for one quiet, dignified idea: you should get to smell like yourself again. Not perfumed. Not masked. Just normally, unmistakably clean — the way you remember. One morning wash, soft skin, and nothing more to think about all day.

That's the whole story. No gimmicks, no shame — just a bar that finally caught up with the chemistry.
